I’ve been trying to find a good case for my Mavic 3 Classic. This should be easy since it’s just a Mavic 3 frame that’s been out for over a year now.

It turns out the problem is the remote. I have yet to find a hard case that supports the Mavic 3 Classic and the DJI RC Remote Controller.

DJI RC Remote Controller

I love this remote. It’s easy to see that screen, even in broad daylight. My iPhone likes to dim when the sun is shining, so I previously used a conventional DJI controller and an iPad. I like this solution better.

It feels good, and the battery lasts a long time. You can create custom controls, and it’s great.

First, I decided to try the FPVTosky case. I have another case (this one) from FPVTosky for my DJI FPV, and I love it. It’s a great case that is worth every penny.

But I should have looked at the ad closer before purchasing it because it uses a standard DJI controller.

It works great for this… if you’re using the standard controller. The drone fits fine and has space for four batteries and many other compartments. However, my controller moves around too much for this.

I wanted this one to work. It’s a sturdy case and has so much room. But alas, it won’t work with my controller. However, if you use the standard DJI controller, you should get it.

Hard case for Mavic 3 Classic

So I had high hopes for this one. It even shows a different controller in the ad!

I thought my problems were solved. Not so much.

As it turns out, my controller doesn’t fit in this one either, which is a shame since the case itself seems so durable and nice.

I cannot have any movement of parts in my hard cases because I take my drones to race tracks, four-wheeling events, fire department scenarios, etc. I have to be able to toss this thing in the back of my jeep and lug it around everywhere.

If you have the DJI Pro Controller, the PGYTECH case is a great option. I don’t have the DJI pro because it’s $1200, and that’s a drone or two in my book. I’m sure it’s great, but I’m not buying one.

I am still looking for a good hard case. A member of the DJI Mavic 3 Classic group on Facebook has shared this case: 2022 Lykus Titan M320 and I’m tempted to check it out. It looks nice and has lots of room. It’s probably a larger case, but that’s ok. My FPV case is nearly a suitcase.

Another option I’ve looked at is This backpack. It has a removable insert for the bigger controller, but I’m not sure if I trust it. I’ll think about it for a while.

Conclusion

For now, I’m using the bag that came with the fly more kit:

It’s not bad at all. It’s very high quality and even has steel clasps. I’ve used it for a couple of shoots now. I prefer hard cases, but as far as soft cases go, this is nice. You can get the DJI Mavic 3 Fly More kit here for $649. It’s nice and comes with the best soft bag DJI has ever put out.
